Enhancing Communication Skills

Many people complain that they don’t feel they are being heard or respected.

To change that we have to look at both the way in which we deliver a message and also how we, or the other party, listens to the concerns that are presented.

Human beings are naturally defensive.

So it is often hard to present to another person a concern about how they are coming across or dealing ineffectually with a situation.

To do this it is best if we can create an atmosphere of support, a clarity of what we want to express and are open to hearing the other person’s view of the situation.

I have developed a specific protocol where we examine how to set up a difficult conversation for success, how to present your concerns so that they can be clearly heard, and how to enlist all the parties involved to hear you accurately and non-defensively. We also focus on how to reach a resolution when conflict is present.
